A Little Collection Shelf

I decided to slap together a shallow shelf in the corner for old jars that I recently received as left-overs from an estate sale.  This small addition to my space will hopefully act as a catalyst for this year’s Transart’s work.  As I am putting odds and ends into the jars, I am also beginning to think about collections in general.

One thing that becomes immediately apparent is that any collection immediately needs to deal with issues of organization.  And, although that should have been obvious, it wasn’t something that I was really aware of until my practical mentor pointed it out!

I’m also still searching for the connection between the practical and written elements of my work this year at Transart, so I hope that builting these simple shelves will also give me something to play with as I figure that out.
